Earlier this morning, around 7:15 or so, I was walking up a neighborhood street. As I approached the corner of 110th and Broadway, I saw a large group of African American children (all boys - I'm guessing most were 10 or 11 years old) emerging from the subway. I walked alongside them and overheard one kid ask his friend, "Do you really think he's going to win?" His friend nodded and answered, "He just has to."

I love stories like this, little snapshots of overheard or observed moments!
He does just have to.
From time to time, I have seen little boys like that too, mostly on the train, some a bit younger. Proudly wearing their Obama t-shirts and buttons.
I get a huge lump in my throat thinking that a glass ceiling has been broken for so many Americans with this man. We have so much to be hopeful for, but mostly I think of the children.
Amen...
